The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, KTDC, which operates many fully-equipped hotels and restaurants across the state and which offers special and attractive tour packages during the festival seasons to travellers has now opened two new hotels providing excellent stay and mouthwatering dishes. The Flotilla Floating Restaurant at Veli and The Ripple Land in Alappuzha are now ready to welcome the guests.

The Flotilla Floating Restaurant at Veli was inaugurated by the tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. The Veli Tourist Village, a place of unsurpassed natural beauty where a serene backwater merges with the Arabian Sea in the backdrop of a lush green village scene, is a thriving tourism centre attracting a large number of both domestic and foreign travellers. The Flotilla Floating Restaurant is an excellent place to enjoy some delicious food while floating over the rippling water body and lapping up the ambience.

Alappuzha, is a place renowned for its charming waterways that resembles the waterways of Venice and is a favourite haunt for tourists. Alappuzha has a large variety of tourist attractions ranging from houseboats (kettuvallom) to Ayurveda Centres. This backwater spot also various places of worship. Alappuzha has the best of backwater cruises in Kerala.

Ripple Land, KTDC's latest service, was inaugurated last year by the tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. This is an added attraction of Alappuzha backwaters and it has already become a well-known landmark. ‘Ripple Land’ has 21 fully appointed rooms providing all the modern amenities and a generous parking lot.

Approximately 56 people can be seated at the 14 tables in the 3,056-sq-ft lower floor. In the 675-sq-ft second floor, 28 people can be seated at the seven tables.

The flotilla restaurant has been built using teakwood and anjili (wild jack wood). You can enter the restaurant through a floating footpath.

The Flotilla promises a beautiful dining experience to its visitors. On the other side of the restaurant, boating facilities have also been arranged for the tourists.
