Kerala was an attraction over the centuries for traders and researchers in the spices and ivory, so intent Phoenicians, Arabs, Romans, and Chinese. As the Portuguese navigator - Vasco de Gama arrived here in 1498, and later the Dutch sailed in year 1604 , while the Englishmen officially came in 1800 in spite of their presence in the country before decades.

Kerala is located at the southeastern tip of India with the Arabian Ocean in the west and Western Ghats in the east. Kerala is divided into three parts-the coastal lowlands, the fertile hinterland and highlands. Kerala is noted for its serene beaches, wildlife, backwaters, wonderful cruises in the calm waters and stay in beautiful mountain resorts. Not surprisingly, it is called in the name "Gods own country".
